Invitation for Nominations: Council and Court Membership

In view of the anticipated vacancies in the Council and the Court by the end of December 2024, I am writing to invite you to submit names to the Nominations Committee of the Council for consideration of making recommendations to the respective approving authorities for appointment as lay Council and Court members of the University.

The Council, as the supreme governing body of the University, provides input and guidance to the University in performing its role in the higher education system of Hong Kong. The Court is the supreme advisory body of the University.  The Court enables the University to involve more members of the wider community in understanding, promoting and helping with the development of the University, including assistance in fundraising efforts to support various initiatives and activities. Further information on the Council and the Court can be obtained at the respective websites at https://www.cityu.edu.hk/cuc and https://www.cityu.edu.hk/court.

You are invited to send names in strict confidence to the Council Secretariat by e-mail at cuc@cityu.edu.hk on or before Tuesday, 30 April 2024 for the Nominations Committee’s consideration.  In your submission, please indicate clearly whether the person(s) is (are) proposed for the Council or the Court.  It would facilitate the Committee’s deliberation if a brief profile/list of achievements of the persons concerned can be provided.

It is important to note that those submitting names for the Nominations Committee’s consideration should not approach the nominees concerned. Thank you for your kind attention.
