University Announcement: 2015 CityU Discovery Festival: Celebrating Discovery, Innovation and Creativity by CityU Students and Staff
27 March 2015
Dear Alumni,

I invite you to join the 2015 CityU Discovery Festival (DFest) from Tuesday 10 March through Thursday 12 March 2015, to celebrate the discovery, innovation, and creativity demonstrated by our students and staff.

Some key highlights of the DFest:
  • Tue 10 March
    • 2:30-3:30pm --- Talk on discovery and innovation by Ms. Mabel Yuen Ting CHEUNG, an acclaimed film director and producer
    • 2:30-4:00pm --- International Culture Carnival with student performances and international food tasting
    • 4:00-5:10pm --- DFest Opening Ceremony (Officiating Guests include the Honourable LAM Woon-kwong, GBS, JP; Ms. Mabel Yuen Ting CHEUNG; and President Way KUO)
  • Tue 10 - Thu 12 March
    • 9:30am-5:00pm --- Learning&Discovery@CityU exhibitions
The Learning&Discovery@CityU activities will be held from Tuesday 10 through Thursday 12 March 2015 in the Purple Zone, Podium Floor, Academic 1.  Teachers and students will share their experiences and discoveries through their exhibits. As we enter the next phase of CityU’s unique Discovery-enriched Curriculum, ‘DEC 2.0’, intellectual property (IP) and entrepreneurship will be promoted. Some of our student innovators have been granted patents and/or start-up funds for their projects.  Other displays that will engage you include student-initiated projects and projects that address societal needs. Come and join us in celebrating the innovations of our students, and bring your family along, too!

Visit our DFest website at http://www6.cityu.edu.hk/dfest for more information. I look forward to greeting you at the 2015 CityU Discovery Festival!

Best wishes,
