Dear colleagues and students, Counselling support provided following exchange student tragedy The University is greatly saddened to learn about the death of an exchange student on 12 November. The President has sent his personal condolences to the student’s family, expressing his deepest regret for the loss of a young life. He has arranged to meet with students at the Student Residence next week, and he is urging colleagues and students to support each other through this challenging period. The University provided immediate assistance to the affected family members after the incident and will offer on-going support as necessary. The Dean of Students, staff of COM, MEAO, SRO and a team of counsellors are working together to provide support and counselling services to those in need. I appeal to anyone who feels they need to talk to someone about what has happened, or who feels that they need counselling support, to contact our staff in Student Development Services on 3442 8478.
