From: Campus Dev & Facilities Ofc A Briefing Session will be hosted by the Council for Sustainable Development of the HKSAR Government (SDC) on municipal solid waste (MSW) charging entitled: "Waste Reduction by Waste Charging．How to Implement?" 「減廢 - 收費．點計？」 In early 2012, the Government conducted a public consultation to deliberate the issues pertaining to MSW charging as a policy tool to encourage waste reduction at source. This briefing is part of the second-stage public engagement process to gauge the community's views and discussions on the proposed implementation of the charging scheme. Solid waste management is fundamental to the sustainable development of an international city. Many support the introduction of quantity-based MSW charging to drive the necessary changes in the public’s waste-generating behavior. However, views were fairly mixed when it came to the implementation details. Please come to express your views. Your participation would contribute to promoting sustainable development in Hong Kong.
