Invitation to CityU Convocation’s “Career Navigator”

Embracing the caring spirit to nurture the young generation, the CityU Convocation is organising a Forum entitled “Career Navigator” at 2:30pm on 4 July 2015 (Saturday). The event aims to help aspiring alumni and graduating students to navigate the labyrinth of career path and life philosophy.

The Convocation is privileged to have invited Mr Simon Ma (馬興文先生), a contemporary master who crosses over music, art, design and various domains, to join the Forum and unveil his compelling career stories as well as wisdom on his life philosophy that leads to his tremendous success in the art kingdom.

About Simon Ma

 

Crossover is synonymous with Simon Ma. He started learning the art of traditional Chinese painting under the guidance of Master Fan Tzu Teng at the age of 7 and dabbling in music at 11. When he was 13, he moved to London and studied at the Bartlett School of Architecture – UCL, experimenting different forms of “crossover” in art, design and various domains. Simon Ma headed to Shanghai after the Hong Kong financial crisis in 1997 and started his own business - M.HOUSE in 2002.

Highlights of Mr Ma’s some recent achievements:

- Appointed as Sino-Italian Cultural Ambassador in 2012
- Appointed as Cultural Ambassador for Hong Kong Jockey Club in 2014
- Elected as one of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons in Hong Kong in 2014
- Over the years, he has hit the scene as a crossover artist, collaborating with international brands such as Ferrari, Hublot, Ducati, Lamborghini, Porsche, Chow Tai Fook, Remy Martin 1898 and Chivas 18
- His artworks and collections have been exhibited all over the world in renowned places such as the Italian Pavilion for Shanghai Expo 2010, Taiwan Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Art, Museum of Contemporary Art in Shanghai (MOCA), Yixing Xu Beihong Museum and Patricia and Phillip Frost Art Museum in Miami
