Dear fellow alumni,  The University on 12 May issued an announcement to all CityU alumni that the University has promptly formed an AC3 Opening Ceremony Review Group (the “Review Group”) to review issues arising from the ceremony held on 6 May.  The chairperson of the Convocation, Miss Karmen Chan, has been appointed by the University President, Professor Way Kuo, to serve on the five-member panel of the Review Group. The Convocation expects the Review Group can achieve the following purposes:   to review the logistics, operation and security arrangement of the AC3 Opening ceremony; to identify areas for improvement and to make recommendations in order to improve the campus management; and to achieve a proper and reasonable balance among the freedom of speech, security and safety of the University. The Convocation is committed to maintaining the transparency of the review progress and shall continue to update the alumni on the latest progress and result of the review.   CityU Convocation May 2013 親愛的校友： 城大於5月12日向校友發出大學通訊，公佈校方就5月6日學術樓（三）啟用典禮事件一事，已迅速成立檢討小組（下稱“檢討小組”）以便跟進典禮當日有關之安排並作全面檢討。 大學校長郭位教授已委任城大評議會主席陳嘉雯小姐為五人小組成員之一。評議會期望透過檢討小組達到以下目標： 檢討學術樓（三）啟用典禮的籌劃、執行及保安工作; 提出改善建議及方案，以助大學繼續改善校園管理;及 就言論自由、大學保安及安全之間取得適當平衡。 評議會將致力維持檢討工作之透明度，並繼續向校友匯報檢討工作之進展及結果。 香港城市大學評議會 二零一三年五月
