Ms Dilys Chau is a Certified Public Accountant and has been a Partner of Ernst & Young, a Big Four global accounting firm, since 2002. Her community and public service experience covers a wide spectrum. She had served in the Hong Kong Branch of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the largest global professional accounting body, for 8 years before she stepped up to become its President during 2006-7. She was also Honorary Treasurer of Hong Chi Association, the largest NGO in Hong Kong serving the mentally handicapped. She also has the opportunities to serve the wider community of Hong Kong through various government appointments. The more challenging ones include the appointment in 2007 to the Council of the City University of Hong Kong. This is a role which she treasured and took pride in because of the opportunity to serve her alma mater with vision and passion. She is now actively serving in different roles for the government of the HKSAR as an independent member, including the Education Commission, the Harbourfront Commission, the Travel Industry Council as well as for some of the panels commissioned by Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau.
Ms Chau was conferred a bachelor degree in Accountancy by CityU, formerly City Polytechnic of Hong Kong prior to her Master degree study in Business Administration with another university in Hong Kong. She is also a registered auditor in Macau. She is a dedicated Christian who strives to practise Christian values in her workplace and in the community services that she is engaged in.
